‘偷吃’

When I was young, I lived with my maternal grandparents. Back then, my parents would fetch me from their place on Fri nites and send me back on Mon mornings. They were like weekend parents. Can’t be helped then, cos Alice and Albert had to work and no one else was willing to take care of a not-cute-and-not-good-looking kid like me. =p

I have no recollection of my days there except for those HK drama serials and my grandma’s sour plums. My grandma used to make very nice sour plums and she would hide them in the kitchen. No matter where she hid them, I could always ‘hunt’ them down. By the time she found out, it would be too late. Sometimes, she would find an empty bottle. Sometimes, if she was lucky, there would be some sour plums left. I was like a ‘大老鼠’ in her house. Hee hee… But to me, it was like a ‘game’ to me… Hide-and-seek, you know… Very challenging one leh.

I have always wondered who pass the ‘偷吃’ genes to me. Was it Alice or was it Albert?

Last nite, Alice complained that grandma ‘偷吃’ Belinjau Nut crackers while she was out. Now, Grandma’s having a very bad cough. Hmmm, naughty Grandma.

Now, it’s apparent.
The ‘偷吃’ genes weren’t from Albert and Alice.
