There must be a place called Heaven

When I visited Grandma last Mon, I told her I would visit her the next day. But I didn't. I wish I did.

She left us last week. She was 90. She passed away in SGH at about 2 plus in the morning of 1 st March. She had already left by the time I reached. No one was beside her when she breathed her last.

Grandma started counting numbers in her sleep when I last visited her. My aunt and I had a hard time waking her up. Even when her eyes were open, she didn't quite respond to us. She would continue counting numbers the moment she closed her eyes. Strangely, the numbers were in sequence ... 88, 89, 90 ... When she finally responded to us, I fed her plain porridge with some vegetables and minced meat. She was too weak to speak. She could only nod her head when I asked her questions.

Uncle blockhead (I HATE HIM!!!) kept asking her what she was counting. Grandma merely kept quiet even though I think she heard him very clearly ... I was very irritated with him. It was insensitive of him to ask that question. SO WHAT if he knew what she was counting? Does it really matter so much to him? Would that make her feel any better? No wonder, people say 'there is no cure for stupidity' ... He is indeed beyond hope.

It was much later that I heard from my parents that the old folks believe that wasn't just counting numbers in her sleep. She was counting her steps to Heaven. =)

Yes, Heaven.

Ya, ya, ya, I know that there is no scientific proof. But I believe it is true. There must be a place called Heaven. I believe it is a wonderful place where all good people will go when they pass away.

Grandma did a lot of good deeds when she was alive. It is only right that she has a place in Heaven. So, my grandma did go to heaven. She is at peace now.

Hmm, I think you will have to wait very long before I can join you there. Well, I hope I do enough good deeds to go to heaven. Meanwhile, enjoy yourself there, ok?
