I like '薇'

Albert was at a loss when I was born. Not because he was not financially stable to have a child, not because he was still staying with his parents then, not because he was not mentally prepared to be a father.

He was at a loss what name to give me. My paternal grand father was very traditional, he would think of names for grand-sons, not grand-daughters. =p

Albert decided on the name '爱薇' cos he came across this name in the papers and he thought it was a very nice name. I am very proud of my name cos it sounds nice and I love to explain it's 可爱 的 '爱'， 蔷薇 的 '薇'. =)

Albert told me yesterday that he read from a book (dunno where he got his book from) that females born in the year of Dragon, should avoid using 草字头 chinese characters in names. 王字旁 chinese characters are advised. 草字头 chinese characters are not so good for career. Well, some actresses born in the year of Dragon have 草字头 characters in their names - Vicki Zhao (赵薇), Ruby Lin (林芯茹), Yvonne Lim (林湘萍), they aren't doing too bad in career. Other Dragons include Shu Qi (舒淇), Zhou Xun (周迅), without 王字旁, they are still very famous. Oh yesh, there's also Gigi Leung (梁咏琪), I guess she is doing ok in her career.

I have looked through a chinese dictionary. '薇' is the nicest 'wei'. Guess I have to look for an expert, I may wanna change my name totally. Hmmm, I can think about what names I like. This is fun, choosing a name for myself. =p
