I turn eight today

I joined the company on this day eight years ago. Back then I looked green, naive, fresh from school and maybe I think I looked kinda silly. I was looking forward to working life, looking forward to earning money, looking forward to spend MY money, looking forward to having MY credit card, looking forward to dressing up (which I think I failed terribly), looking forward to a bright future, looking forward to a career.

My colleagues and I used to have this 'anniversary' celebration. We used to count the number of years of experience we had. Eight years later, we no longer celebrate ... cos there is no cause for celebration. We no longer wanna remember the number of years in the company ... it just reminds us the number of years we have wasted in the company.

We need a job which pays ... not a career.

So here I am ... I turn eight today.
