It's a tradition ...
国有国法, 家有家规。
我的家有 birthday photo tradition.
It's a tradition that we MUST have a birthday cake photo-taking session during our birthdays.
Our government (which is just my father - he, him and himself) would insist.
No democracy at all.
No petition allowed.
No objection allowed.
And worst of all, we CAN'T GO ON STRIKE!!! =p
Sigh, today's one of those days again... It's my mum's birthday.
We celebrated at Jack's Place. We ordered a coffee walnut cake from them as well cos there was a birthday discount coupon, so dun waste mah...
When we reached home, it was already 10.15pm. My father started taking out the tripod stand, the camera and made preparation. The rest of us knew IT was coming again... =p
I dun mind taking pictures but it is really such a chore... when it comes to the camera. Since it's a 'tradition', my father will use the traditional camera which is a chore setting it up and keeping it after a few snaps.
It's kinda boring too... The same old cake (cos all cakes look the same after we have eaten more than 50 cakes since we shifted to our existing flat) and the best of all? The same old place... Our dining table...
Sigh... I really dread it but I can understand my father's intention ... He means well. He wanna keep the photos so that he can remember us on our birthdays in the future. No doubt, it is the same, old people, who seem to look older every year, but dun forget, there are dates on the photos. So they are different ok...
Maybe he wanna start a 'birthdays' photo album ... to keep all our birthdays' photos ...
Maybe he just wanna continue the 'tradition' that he has started ...
Maybe becos he's a virgo, a perfectionist ...
Or maybe we will understand him better when we have our own kids ...
Amelie & Andrew, rite?
