A shitty day ...

My dearest Vivi went on maternity leave and I 'inherited' one of her files. She left some shit undone and happily ignored it, knowing that she won't be around to clear the shit anyway. So when the customer asked me today why this issue wasn't highlighted to him much earlier. I just told him the truth "I'm so sorry, I just took over your case and I wasn't made aware of this earlier by my colleague. She didn't inform me about this at all and she is now on maternity leave."
.
I dun see any point in covering for her.
I dun care whether he likes my explanation.
I dun care if he wanna complain. Not my fault.
.
Another unreasonable customer argued with me over the phone. He refused to listen when I explained to him about our company's policy. He insisted on his 'own' policy and even accused me of making things difficult for him. His supplier called me and told me off, that I was not doing enough to help them at all. I know my company's policy better than them. I know what I should do and what I shouldn't be doing. These people do not threaten me anymore. I spoke to them as nicely as I could and said "Well, if you insist on your view, there is nothing I can do. We'll see what happens later."
.
True to my expectation, both of them discussed and settled the problem among themselves. That's human's nature. They know that I have to provide good customer service , so they think they have the right to command me to do things.
.
A shitty day ... I'm glad it's over.
